Becoming A Chief

Closing the Teach For America Blogging Gap

Best In Show.

Induction wrapped up on Thursday and I found it to be enjoyable! Throughout the week I had a few personal “aha” moments.

1. I know this is the right region for me. Even though I am far from Florida and still a nine hour drive from my loved ones in Wisconsin – the vision our superintendent  has for the KCMSD is empowering. I want help see his vision through.

2. During a Diversity session, which I felt was a surface level session and reflection, I came to the realization of a future career path. Recruiting is something I love doing. What if I had the opportunity to recruit high performing students from low income/minority communities for a prestigious college? Hmm.

In other news:

I had the best banana granola crunch pancakes at Chubbys this morning. Definitely  a spot I will hit up again. Today I will spend my time trying to find a place to live and finishing up last minute errands before my flight to LA tomorrow.
